Guest Speaker: Sherezad Shafiq - Grundfos VP CBS Sales North America. Sherezad shared with the group about his philosophy of GROW and Extreme Leadership. His guiding light is “Don’t Try To Get Noticed!” – "Just put the work in, and you will get noticed by peers, customers, and managers."

HAVING A LASTING IMPACT
"If you want to make an impact, don't just tell people what to do from your point of view; you may lose their attention." Ask open-ended questions instead of yes/no ones. Example: Was I high on price? Yes — Conversation over.
Use the WHO, WHAT, WHY, WHERE, and WHEN questions to discover value for customers and help you impact their decisions. Example: What is important to you on this project? This starts a conversation.
G.R.O.W STRATEGY
The key to a successful “Grow” Strategy is being prepared for a meeting or event by setting a goal that is based on reality, understanding your possible options, and recognizing actionable maneuvers to achieve your goal.
- G – What is your Goal?
- R – What is the Reality of the situation?
- O – What options do you have to be successful?
- W – What Actions will you take next to reach your goal?
“DE-CENTRALIZING COMMAND”
Two key takeaways from the book Extreme Ownership are to prioritize and execute, meaning you can’t do everything all at once. You need to be strategic and organize your actions.

The second takeaway is the team is stronger with a De-Centralized Command, meaning everyone has the same objective but is able to execute in smaller groups.
